Meet The Traveling Planner

I’m Vanessa — owner, lead planner, and coordinator of The Traveling Planner.

I’m an East Coast girl at heart, raised in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, but in the fall of 2022, I followed a calling to the West Coast. I packed my bags, took a leap of faith, and moved to Portland, Oregon — and I’ve been loving this new chapter ever since.

My journey in the wedding industry began back in 2017. I was in college, working at a resort that hosted weddings and events.

I started out as a server and bartender, and immediately fell in love with the energy of weddings — the excitement, the traditions, the unique styles and stories. After college, I decided to stay in the industry, eventually working my way up to a wedding director role.

But I wanted more creativity, more connection, and the ability to work more closely with couples in a way that felt personal and fulfilling. So I created The Traveling Planner — a business that’s allowed me to combine my passion for travel, organization, and celebration in the most meaningful way.

What I love most about what I do is building real connections with couples — being there through every step of the planning process and making sure the experience feels as smooth and stress-free as possible. My overall goal is to be your Sound Board, advice giver, stress reliever, biggest cheerleader & food feeder (yes I will make sure you eat & have a beverage in hand throughout your whole wedding day!).
